Country Chicken Bowl

Country Chicken Bowl

Gather together all ingredients you will need. This saves time and makes the process smoother. I even go as far as to separate my ingredients per step. I’d rather spend the time in the beginning to make my cooking process run smoother.

Seasoned flour

-2 cups flour

Season generously with:

-Old Bay

-Garlic Powder

-Trader Joe’s Green Goddess seasoning

Cover and set aside

Chicken

Cut one chicken breast into small pieces

-Add 1/2 cup of milk

-2 TBS old bay

-1 tsp yellow mustard

Heat oil in medium sauce pan on medium high until HOT

Enough to deep fry about little less than half full

Coat chicken with flour mixture

Place pieces in oil (be careful)

Cook for about 5 mins or until lightly golden brown

Chicken will float to the top when ready

Place on paper towel lined dish to drain oil off

*A few extra mins of cooking may be needed for browning purposes

While chicken is cooking prepare your instant mashed potatoes

Make per box instructions for the number of servings of potatoes you want per person.

I used the 8 serving recipe so each person got 2 servings of potatoes

Once potatoes are done, turn down to lowest setting on your burner ADD

-1 tsp garlic powder (add per taste) this is for 8 servings)

-black pepper

-2 Tbs sour cream

-1/2 cup of shredded or grated Parmesan cheese

Mix until cheese is melted. Turn burner off.

Cook Corn- you can use canned corn or frozen steam in bag corn. I chose steam in bag corn for time purposes.

If you use canned corn be sure to cook with water from can, 1 Tbs butter, and 1 tsp black pepper.

Hear Heinz gravy of your choice. Brown or chicken gravy tastes best to me.

Prep bowls

Spoon potatoes

Add corn (drain any excess liquid)

Place chicken pieces

Drizzle with gravy

Enjoy immediately and watch your family’s reaction.
